Measures for the removal of fiber optic cables, electrical cables, and water pipeplinesinstalled in drainage channels : 60-day deadline.
The Provincial Ministry of Infrastructure, Public Works, Land Affairs, Urban Planning, and
Housing for the City of Kinshasa informs the population of Kinshasa, economic operators, and all
users of urban public spaces that it has been established that urban roadway drainage channels are
recurrently being used as conduits for fiber optic cables belonging to telecommunications
operators, electrical cables, and water pipes, in violation of the regulations governing the
management and operation of public domain.
This situation severely compromises the proper functioning of the urban sanitation system, hinders
the normal flow of rainwater, and significantly contributes to the occurrence of recurrent flooding,
particularly along several major arterial roads of the City of Kinshasa, notably Boulevard du 30
Juin.
